About Matt Campbell

Matt is an ordained Anglican Minister, educator, and pastoral care professional. He is a Commissioned Officer of the Royal Australian Navy, currently serving as Chaplain to RAN Recruit School (HMAS Cerberus), and is an Honorary Assoc Priest at St Paul’s Cathedral, Melbourne. Matt is an experienced people leader, contributing to high performing teams across a wide variety of contexts including Independent Anglican Schools, Retail Events Management, Workplace Training and Development, Youth and Children’s work, and several years in advocacy and promotion with not for profits, including World Vision - Australia’s largest non-government organisation. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has over 15 years’ governance experience, currently serving as a Board Member to Melbourne Girls Grammar School and Board Member and Grants Committee Chair of The Navy's Anchorage - a for purpose Corporate Commonwealth entity. Previous board and advisory roles include The Oaktree Foundation, Mustard Leadership Australia, Nabu.org and National Adoption Awareness Week (Adopt Change). Matt has qualifications in Theology, Education, Workplace Assessment/Training and Social Science (Counselling) which provide a strong and distinctive foundation for his work. He is passionate about people, social justice, holistic education, music and the arts, good food and wine, the ocean, the transforming power of the gospel, and quite enjoys writing short bios about himself. Most importantly he is husband to Melissa and dad to Willa (22) and JM (17). Somewhat less importantly he is herb gardener, hat collector, and ‘goldfish whisperer’.
