About Matt Castle

After years working as a bartender, server, and manager in restaurants and bars, I realized what I loved most wasn't just serving people — it was solving problems, staying organized under pressure, and finding the patterns that kept teams running smoothly and customers coming back. That realization sparked my decision to move into data analytics, where I could apply those same strengths on a larger, more impactful scale. In my NYC CitiBike project, I analyzed tens of millions of rides and merged trip data with weather via API to understand how factors like temperature and season affected ridership. Using Python tools Pandas, and Seaborn, I built clean, informative charts, an interactive map with Kepler.gl, and displayed them in a Streamlit dashboard to present recommendations on bike redistribution and station expansion. The project showcased my ability to combine external data sources, uncover meaningful patterns, and deliver insights that support smarter urban planning. Today, I analyze data with a passion for transforming complex information into clear, actionable insights. My background honed my adaptability, creative problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills — all crucial in the world of data. In my previous career I managed smooth shifts, improved team workflows, delivered consistently high-quality service, and kept accurate records and registers — experiences that taught me to think both collaboratively and independently. With my technical skillset I am excited to keep growing in the data analytics field. I’m driven by curiosity, persistence, and a converting numbers and spreadsheets into relatable stories. Whether working solo or with a team, I aim to help organizations turn their data into smarter, lasting strategies.
