About Matt Chanoff

I'm currently working as a co-founder with Demand Discovery Group (DDG). DDG is a company creation fund that puts Deliberate Innovation (DI) to work originating and accelerating startups. We developed the DI methodology, initially at Georgia Tech, working with hundreds of founders for over a decade. DI prioritizes understanding customer situations and immunities to identify and leverage authentic demand in order to create successful companies. Our businesses focus on software and AI for healthcare, biotech, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure. More generally, I'm an investor and volunteer, working with startups and small and medium sized NGOs. Early investor in Florence Healthcare, RoadSync, Damballa, CodeGuard, Ionic Security, Parmonic, SmartPM, and others. On NGO boards at Shining Hope for Communities, Internews, Feel Good Action, Tujenge, and Cal's Center for Effective Global Action. I'm an economist by training, with a lot of management consulting experience around electronics. I was a speechwriter years ago, notably for Senator Paul Simon during his presidential campaign. Also, I'm the primary author of The Heart of Innovation.
