About Matt Cochran

Mr. Cochran is a seasoned wetland and stream restoration ecologist with 24 years of project management experience for a range of natural resource projects involving wetlands, streams, dam removal, lakes and fjords. Mr. Cochran is an expert in all aspects of wetland and stream restoration, including feasibility studies, conceptual designs, detailed designs, permitting, construction oversight and compliance monitoring. He has designed and/or constructed over l.f. of stream channel, removed over 10 low-head dam and restored over acres of wetlands and peatlands ranging in size from 2 acres to over 3,100 acres. His experience is U.S. based as well as international with 19 years of experience in Denmark. During his international tenure, he had the title and function as Nature Restoration Area Manager with responsibility for coordination, bid process management, project estimation, scheduling and staffing of wetland and stream restoration projects throughout Denmark. His responsibilities have also included writing and administrating contracts with owners and subcontractors, hosting progress meetings and presenting findings at public meetings. Matt also has extensive experience in wetland delineation, stream evaluations, threatened and endangered species surveys, USACE Section 404 Nationwide and Individual permits and Section 401 Water Quality Certifications. Mr. Cochran is active with the Society of Wetland Scientists (SWS) European Chapter and has served on the Board of Directors as Treasurer since 2017. He has also severed on the Board to Directors for the Ohio Wetlands Association since December 2024.
