As a seasoned public policy leader, I build consensus and enhance communities by solving complex problems for industry, government, community and academia. As Director of Government Affairs with Trans Canada Trail, my role involves leading efforts to engage government officials and agencies at all levels. I play a critical role in advocating for policies and funding that support the organization’s mission and programs while ensuring ongoing funding for the Trail. This is where I excel. A community builder and leader from a young age, my strengths lie in bringing people together to solve grand challenges. A big-picture thinker, advisor and mentor, I break down silos and prioritize strategies that raise awareness, strengthen strategic relationships and engender support to achieve corporate goals. Community, business, academic and government leaders trust me to listen and understand competing priorities, then distill and inspire divergent groups and individuals to come together for the greatest good. A former Member of Parliament with 20 years’ experience advising high-ranking officials locally, nationally and internationally, I am trusted to deftly manage individual and organizational needs. I am most known as a capable and effective communicator who is approachable, empathetic and relied upon to solve the most complex challenges. Some recent accomplishments include:*Establishing a nationally-recognized platform for public policy dialogue * Championing and securing $100M+ federal investment for local Fredericton community * Co-founding a development initiative that strengthens the health and education of Gambian youth each year * Advising the Minister of Finance during the initial roll-out of the COVID-19 Economic Response Plan * Representing Canada on the world stage at the United Nations Security Council and other global fora * Being Fredericton’s youngest-ever elected Member of Parliament What I enjoy most about my work is giving organizations a voice. For 20 years my ability to provide space for diverse viewpoints and my positive “get it done” attitude has helped motivate individuals and teams to achieve greater outcomes that impact the public good.
