About Matt Drummond

I started my Royal Australian Air Force career with a Bachelor of Science Degree and Officer training at the Australian Defence Force Academy (University of New South Wales). I successfully completed No. 158 pilots course and completed junior flying tours at No. 32 Squadron (HS748 aircraft), Basic Flying Training School (CT4 aircraft) and Aircraft Research and Development Unit (PC9 and King Air 200). After promotion to Squadron Leader, I completed tours as Executive Officer No. 32 Squadron and Aircraft Research and Development Unit as the Flight Test Safety Officer and Senior Operations Officer.On promotion to Wing Commander, I completed appointments as Deputy Director Woomera Test Range, Head Aeronautical Information Services and Commanding Officer No. 32 Squadron. I have deployed on active service to Sudan (United Nations) and Afghanistan during my career. I have been awarded two commendations including one on active service in Afghanistan. I retired from the RAAF in March 2020 and moved to Merimbula to enjoy semi-retirement on the South Coast.I volunteer in the community as a Radio Operator at Marine Rescue Merimbula.I currently work as a casual employee at the Eden Fishermen's Recreation Club as a doorman, courtesy bus driver and barman. I have a vast background and experience in leadership, management and aviation industry.My objective in semi-retirement is to provide flexible employment for any job on a casual or part time basis. I am open to all industries, occupations and pay levels. I pride myself on a high work ethic, commitment to management outcomes and customer relations.
