About Matt Emerman

Matthew Emerman is a global, cross-functional leader and operator and has built a track record leading high performing teams across multiple geographies. He is a Founding Executive Team member and currently Country Head, India, CFO and Global Head of Corporate Development for JioSaavn, which is the largest streaming service in India. Over the past fifteen years, Matt has managed Saavn’s Corporate Development, Finance, People & Culture, Legal, M&A, Content Licensing, Partnerships, Tax Structuring, and Investor Relations. He has raised over $200M in institutional financing from Tiger Global, Bertelsmann, Liberty Media, Wellington and other family offices and high-net-worth strategic individuals. In 2018, Matt led the acquisition of Saavn by Reliance Industries to create JioSaavn, a deal valued at over $1 billion. Throughout this time, Matt spent significant time fostering key partnerships and relationships across India and globally. Matt also served as a Partner at New York-based 212MEDIA, where he helped establish the operating processes for 212MEDIA’s portfolio companies and led strategic capital and fundraising efforts. He is an Advisor to numerous companies and enjoys working with talented entrepreneurs, founders, and high performing teams, and acting as a champion of promoting and implementing cohesive programs that foster personal and professional leadership development. As an Advisor, he strives to help entrepreneurs and corporate clients unlock their companies’ value in order to successfully position themselves to scale and grow. In 2018, he founded ELK Camp Ventures to invest in the growth and success of more than 70+ companies across technology, life sciences, mental health, wellness, and real estate. Matt sits on the board of Kulture Shop and is an Independent Director for Winjit, the award-winning innovative technology solutions provider in the field of artificial intelligence and automation for organizations across the globe. He currently divides his time between Mumbai, NYC, Toronto, and Costa Rica, and counts among his many interests advanced diving and extreme skiing, which has taken him to remote and exciting locations, from the Andaman Islands, to Iceland and Kashmir.
