I’m Matt Evans, a lifelong resident of Phoenix, and I’m running for Mayor because our city deserves strong leadership that delivers on its promises. As a father of three, raising my family here, I’ve seen firsthand how homelessness, crime, and inefficiencies in our government are affecting our communities. That’s why I’ve decided to step up, bringing fresh, practical solutions to the table to make Phoenix a better place for all of us. Over the past two decades, our city has been led by the Democratic Party, with homelessness rising and crime rates still high. Under Mayor Gallego, these issues have only intensified, and Phoenix feels less safe than it should. I believe we need a break from the same old politics and a shift toward a more community-focused, non-partisan approach. My allegiance isn’t to any party or big-money donors—it’s to the hardworking people of Phoenix. My career as a software engineer has taught me how to approach problems with practical, data-driven solutions, and that’s exactly what I plan to bring to city government. I believe we can solve the homelessness crisis by increasing affordable housing and providing critical mental health and addiction recovery services. Addressing homelessness isn’t just about safety—it’s about doing what’s right for the people of our city. Public safety is another priority. Phoenix residents deserve to feel safe, and that means reforming our police department to ensure officers have the training and resources to engage positively with our communities. We need to address the root causes of crime, like poverty and lack of opportunity, to build a city that’s safe for everyone. I’m also committed to bringing fiscal responsibility back to City Hall. Phoenix residents deserve transparency and efficiency in their government, and I will work to cut wasteful spending and ensure taxpayer dollars are being used to benefit the people, not special interests. Phoenix has the potential to be a model city for growth, innovation, and community, but we need leadership that’s willing to listen and act. I’m running for Mayor to bring that leadership and to ensure Phoenix remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family. I can’t do it alone—I need your support to make this vision a reality.
