About Matt Gandy

A recent English and Film graduate from the University of Birmingham, with experience both in marketing and as a Production Runner, mainly based in Manchester's The Sharp Project. My full-time experience mainly consists of a recent role as Scheduler for The BES Group, as well as my current role as Admin for the New Claims Team for a local solicitors, Gowing Law, based in Ivy Mill Business Centre in my home town of Failsworth. Outside of work, I'm a confident writer, with experience in screenwriting, blog-writing, and both long- and short-form copywriting. I've also had a good deal of experience in proofreading, having helped with the editing of a book written about my local town and memories of the writer and his peers. This was a great way to offer my skills to a genuine project, the proceeds of which all went to local charities. BLOG: https://astheygoalong.wordpress.com As They Go Along is a personal blog of essays and analyses of film, with occasional links to literature and storytelling in general. It's very casual, really a celebration of the cinematic form and the storytelling possibilities available in film, with a particular focus on the subtle moments layered with meaning - those moments that remind me just how stunning cinema can be. PHOTOGRAPHY: A collection of my best photographs in a range of styles and aesthetics. Though my photography skills and experience are still really in the amateur stages, this project has definitely allowed me to explore my craft in this area and develop my knowledge of photography and the development thereof, with some (at least to me!) impressive results. Still, I'm always eager to develop my skills and produce ever-more interesting photos.
