About Matt Gorlin

Joined National General (merged with Allstate in January 2021) as the multinational, publicly traded insurance company’s first global Chief Audit Executive and successfully built a robust and efficient Internal Audit function in order to reduce reliance on external consultants, resulting in a dramatic decrease in SOX audit compliance costs for the company, while significantly improving the financial and operational control environment. Post the merger, was tasked by Allstate to create a new global, centralized SOX Center of Expertise to drive efficiencies and optimize the Company’s investment in controls by centralizing the administration, advisory and testing components of the Company’s ICFR for SOX. Has over 20 years of forensic, internal and external audit experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining National General/Allstate, was Head of International Audit at Ironshore Insurance and was responsible for managing all of the internal audits for Ironshore’s global operations located in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, as well as running the MGA/TPA audit oversight program. Previous to Ironshore, was an audit manager in BDO USA’s insurance practice and oversaw teams performing financial and internal control audits on both public and private insurance companies, which included SEC reporting, SOX implementation and SSAE16 internal control reports. In addition, partnered with clients on initial public offerings (IPOs), secondary offerings and public and private placements of debt and equity securities. Is a Certified Public Accountant, a Chartered Global Management Accountant and has a MBA in Financial Management.
