Matt joined Newmark as Executive Managing Director of Capital Markets and currently is a Vice Chairman. He has been in the real estate business in Texas since 1994, most recently with Berkadia from 2007-2016. While at Berkadia, he financed projects in excess of $2B of value. Product types include multifamily, student housing and student housing, with various structures including permanent, bridge, equity and mezzanine debt financing. He was previously a Partner at real estate services firm AMS Real Estate where he started a underwriting group that worked for many of the CMBS industry’s largest originators. Prior to his tenure with AMS, Mr. Greer was a Vice President at Simmons Vedder Partners where he was responsible for development and marketing of the company’s office division. Matt is a graduate of the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He currently serves on the Freddie Mac Advisory Council and is active in the Mortgage Bankers Association, National Multi-Housing Council and the Urban Land Institute.
