About Matt Hanes

I was born and raised in the hub of Nova Scotia, Truro, where I grew up playing many competitive sports. I have been working in the credit/banking industry in Halifax for over 7 years, I have experience working for local cooperatives as well as larger Canadian Banks. In my most recent role I was employed by Canada Life Assurance co. as a Credit Lending Specialist, working in this role I have gained extensive experience in the residential mortgage industry, including credit analysis, financial statement analysis and relationship management with internal and external partners, such as underwriters, appraisers, financial advisors and funding partners.Prior to working for Canada Life I had the opportunity to work a 14-month contract position with Atlantic Central League Savings and Mortgage, as an Admin II Commercial and Lending Services. I worked within the commercial banking department where I developed a strong understanding around commercial mortgages, from the approval process to the final funding of the mortgage. During this time, I also completed the commercial loan renewals and the annual risk reviews of client financial statements. Throughout my time in this role, I became very proficient with Microsoft office, specifically Microsoft excel and access, where I developed skills organizing large sets of financial data and advanced financial spreadsheets.E: matt.a.hanes@gmail.comP: 902-324-1536
