About Matt Hanner

I am the Founder of Runway Artists, a London‑based independent live music agency launched in March 2020. After nearly a decade of experience at major agencies Coda (now Wasserman) and ATC Live (now ROAM), I embarked on building Runway with a purpose: nurturing a more diverse, inclusive and creatively-led workplace where staff are valued as much as the artists they represent. Since its inception—with just 14 acts—Runway has grown to represent over 150 artists across varied genres. I personally represent an eclectic roster, including Melin Melyn, Personal Trainer, Pom Poko, Cosmo Pyke, Algiers, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, and many more. As an advocate for professional development, I have extended Runway’s vision beyond agency work; we launched the “Agents × Managers Conference” as a space for emerging professionals to share industry knowledge, foster collaboration, and challenge the sector’s status quo—reflecting my belief that empowering our team and those around us is key to mutual success I strive for a community‑first approach, aiming to blend strategic insight with cultural leadership. My ethos emphasises nurturing relationships, championing people, and embracing the evolving landscape of live music and the associated challenges for independent and developing artists.
