About Matt Johnston

I am a person with many hats as I've been raised to have an open and inquisitive mind about the world. Though my degree is a Bachelor of Science, with a specialist major in physical and mathematical science and a minor in computer science, I do not believe that the title encapsulates my interests and skills to the best degree! Though my academic focus has been on the physical sciences, my passion has taken me to work and grow in a number of unique fields, most notably electronic circuit troubleshooting and engineering. Currently, I am diversifying into a new industry, geophysical surveying. I find it very exciting as it is a field which encapsulates a variety of highly interesting skills ranging from electronics, mechanical engineering, and computer science. I am also working on a side project with a small, focused team at Equipages.ca, a startup business looking to find a better solution for the Ontarian equestrian community to connect.I love working in fields that correlate to my interests, of which there are many. My most passionate interests in the last few years are music, electronics, photography, and horse riding. I have direct experience working with Wordpress and standard HTML sites, both as maintenance and designing and installing the site from scratch. Through personal experience I am a Linux poweruser (it has been my primary OS since 2014) and a Windows poweruser from longer ago.(Who can possibly avoid Windows?) I first started with 95 many moons ago, but have since become intimately familiar with XP, 7, and 10. I also have experience working with OSX and am very comfortable working in that environment. I am a proud electronics enthusiast, comfortable holding an oscilloscope probe and a soldering iron, and have fixed or created brand new modifications for synthesizers and other electronics from scratch since 2013!
