Multi-disciplinary entrepreneur, startup mentor and writer. I’m an experienced StartupCOO and working in Fractional COO roles. I’m adaptable, direct, trustworthy and I get stuff done. I thrive on the plate spinning needed in a a growth stage. As an entrepreneur and an intrapreneur, I’m not afraid to rattle cages to get stuff done. I have three decades of experience in multiple sectors including IT, economic development, renewables, social startup investment, term sheets, project management and startups. I assist my startups with technology, content strategies and pitch practice. I'm particularly interested (due to my personal passion) in maritime tech, renewables, clean power and hospitality. I've written and published multiple books in science-fiction and gaming (to critical acclaim and commercial performance) and authored multiple articles, documents and position papers for clients on everything from ISO compliance to the importance of rural broadband. Direct experience of helming and mentoring in Fintech, Insuretech, RetailTech, Digital Content, Consumer Goods and Technology. As an accomplished and celebrated project manager and C-level operator, I'm excellent at managing a project team to achieve their best results. I'm adept at building strong relationships with management and with high performers and using whatever methodologies work with diverse teams. With a long career in information technology, starting with multinational telecoms, through SMEs and nearly a decade of economic development, I'll be a great asset to a dynamic business consultancy. I’ve also taught in multiple tertiary, further and higher education establishments - working with students from 8 years old to 60 years old. Mostly technology and business related. I pride myself on my public speaking ability and I’m a dab hand at putting together a presentation deck. I have excellent video and audio production and presentation skills through my Film Production and Performing Arts courses, essential for a remote- and pandemic limited industry that requires high quality presentations as well as understanding what works on social. Have skippered my own yacht as well as others on deliveries in adverse conditions and night sails - highlighting responsibility, teamwork and getting things done.
