About Matt Lewis

I am a second year student at the University of Exeter studying BSc Accounting and Finance with Industrial Experience, currently seeking valuable work experience within the Banking and Finance industry. My most fulfilling modules that I have taken in my first year have been Business Finance (75%) and Economic Principles (74%). In particular, I am interested in learning about the impact that fluctuating unemployment has on society, and the issues that arise from this. During my time studying Geography at A-Level, I was particularly good at my depth of analysis, linking external events to how they would impact people’s living standards. I have strong analytical skills, which I have developed through virtual work experience with KPMG and job simulations at Red Bull. I also developed my skills using Excel and PowerPoint, which were both very useful when I created a presentation for a sustainable business proposal in my Business and Management module. My work experience in other sectors has helped to develop my soft skills, such as communication and adaptability. I have also developed teamwork skills outside of this, particularly from when I completed the 3 Peaks Challenge, raising over £4,500 for the Brain Tumor Charity in the process.
