Asbestos Awareness Coming from a rock climbing and mountaineering background I worked in various mountain training centres across the uk before retraining as an arborist. I have now worked in this role for over 15 years in different capacities, from my first job as a groundsman progressing to the position of climber, team leader, trainer to company owner. To complement and develop my career as an arborist I completed my Irata level 1 in 2018. I have experience working on de veg, geotechnical, bridge replacement and general maintenance contracts on the rail network, building maintenance/ inspection, confined space and the wind industry. After qualifying as a GWO blade repair technician I have gained work in the offshore wind industry, completing a painting/ blasting contract for Windcoat/ Muehlhan on Walney 1, Cumbria and blade inspection contract on Vestas 164 with Rotos 360, along with gaining my IRATA level2. Last year was my first onshore blade repair season on Senvion turbines in Derbyshire, Yorkshire and the Scottish highlands. Focussing on leading edge repairs. After gaining my IRATA level 3, I am now building experience within this role. This season has been spent cleaning V-90 turbines in preparation for LEP in Cumbria, followed by Vestas blade repair campaign at Norther, Belgium, working on V-164’s. Moving forwards I am planning on getting oil and gas certificates and gaining work on offshore rigs to broaden my experience. I’m currently working on an SOV in the North Sea for Boston Energy, as part of the rope access commissioning team on Dogger Bank A. I enjoy working as part of a successful team, i am self motivated with a strong work ethic and get satisfaction from completing a job to a high specification. I’m not afraid of hard work and pushing myself.
