Background
About Matt Perrin
I have been in Lincolnshire Fire Service (LFR) for 29 years, working up to the role of Group Manager. I have served as a Firefighter and Ops Commander at Bronze and Silver Level incidents throughout my career. I have recently completed the Multi-Agency Gold Incident Command (M.A.G.I.C) course. I have worked in a number of departments including Community Fire Safety, Training Centre, Operational Support, Divisional Commander for South Division, Organisational Development and Central Support. I have led on a number of successful Service Level projects. These include responsibility as Project Lead for the £8.2m Scania New Fleet Project, Waddington Training Facility Compliance Project & Service Order and I also produced a successful Business Case to extend our current B.A contract. During the COVID Pandemic I undertook the role of Resourcing & Logistics Cell Chair and later the role of Fire Silver Commander within the TCG. I continually strive and self-develop throughout my career. I am always keen to seek new opportunities that give me increased exposure and broaden my knowledge and understanding in the many areas of our organisation. I have been successful in a number of self-development areas including I.L.M level 3 in Leadership and Management; the relevant Level 4 Certificate I.F.E examinations; qualifications in my additional role as Fire Investigation Officer, NEBOSH and undertaking the role of lead Fire NILO for LFR. These have all provided me with excellent knowledge and enabled me to enhance my skills and improve on the attributes that are required in current and future roles. I fully embrace the Fire Services Priorities and am active in promoting these values to others and developing understanding of the modern role in which colleagues engage. I am respected by all my contemporaries from within the service and with external contractors and corporate managers. I am honest and trustworthy and staff know I am genuine, sincere, firm yet fair. I have established excellent interpersonal skills with my teams. My specialisms include Level 5 Fire Investigation Officer and NILO and I am currently Lead NILO for LFR. My role as a Level 3 Flexi Duty Officer & Tactical Commander brings unique challenges every day. My Command experience has enabled me to bring satisfactory outcomes to hundreds of operational incidents and I am passionate about serving and protecting our communities. I relish new opportunities and look forward to the many challenges that Fire & Rescue services face in the future.
