I am recovering from a spinal injury that has sidelined me for many years but have always had a passion for learning and understand why things do what they do, be it air flow over a Formula 1 car or how switches work. up until my Spinal injury I worked at a metal fabrucation company where I ran the sheet metal cutting side of the production process operating laser and gas/plasma cutting machines working to tight deadlines and high quality results while trouble shooting. One of my proudest moments at the company was being part of the Airbus A400m fuel tank construction for testing before the planes first flight which the company was tasked with undertaking. I like to think of myself as a Macgyver in training, being able to fix things using things that are around or working out the best way to get around a problem. I wasnt very good at school, struggled with the Idea of it all but as I got older I have been able to understand things In a way that works of me by using my own ways of learning and understanding, Breaking things down in my head and putting the information back together like a puzzle as I go. during lockdown when the world shutdown I found myself wanting to test myself. See if I was able to learn something new from home. My late Dad was a draftsman/CAD designer at the company I worked for and I was always interested in the design side of engineering and I have a passion for Engineering, Formula 1 and 3D Printing so I went online, watched some videos, downloaded software called Fusion 360 and I taught myself CAD. over time I have learnt to design, shape, size and produce my own Formula 1 steering wheels with the hope of one day being able to use what I have learnt from the fabrucation company and teaching myself CAD to be able to work within Formula 1 or a CAD enviorment once my spine heals. Thats my goal. Thats what my motivation is. Thats my end game. Thats my dream.
