About Matt Runzi

Matt is a Human Resources and Workplace Health and Safety professional with over three decades of operational and strategic experience gained from working in large government, defence, not-for-profit, tertiary and ASX listed organisations. During his career, Matt has managed diverse teams encompassing a wide range of disciplines operating under a variety of legislative, reporting, quality, compliance and accreditation regimes. As a Workplace Health and Safety professional, Matt implemented a safety framework for a large government owned corporation from inception to successful external compliance audit. This included the sourcing and roll out of a web-based OH & S Information system for incident reporting, upgrading emergency evacuation procedures, establishment of WH & S committees and integration with the corporate Business Continuity Plan. This framework was underpinned by policies and procedures developed by Matt. In addition to conducting workplace investigations for both performance management and disciplinary matters, Matt has extensive experience in managing worker’s compensation claims and return to work and rehabilitation for injured employees. Matt is an accomplished trainer and presenter and taught a module of a post-graduate level course for six years while working at one of the country’s highest ranked universities.
