Background
About Matt Schaaf
I bring 30 years of experience in the design, delivery, and evaluation of initiatives that strengthen workplace inclusion and community safety.I have led the early stages and growth phases of critical violence prevention initiatives in international and Canadian contexts. Thanks to seasoned mentors and teachers, my work is rooted in recognizing the intersectional power dynamics of complex conflict. I facilitate group processes in government and military environments, post-secondary institutions, and community settings, relying on the principles of restorative justice and best practices in trauma-informed care.My commitment to decolonization and gender equity is informed by decades of collaboration with leaders from Indigenous communities, community leaders working to address gender-based violence, and institutional leaders seeking to build safer workplaces.
