Open to PIO career opportunities~ Officer Matt Schima is the Public Information Officer for the Cibolo Police Department with a focus on media relations, external communications, crime prevention content creation, and marketing. He has a bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurial Studies from St. Mary's University in San Antonio. During his time there he received the university's Presidential Award which recognizes graduates who exemplify the leadership ideals of scholarship and service as expressed in the mission of St. Mary's University. He is a 2022 grad with a Master's in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Texas A&M International University. Ofc. Schima graduated from the Alamo Area Council of Governments Police Academy in 2013 as the class Vice President. He is a state certified Crime Prevention Specialist as well as Public Information Officer. He holds certifications as a bike patrol officer, Project Lifesaver Electronic Search Specialist and Instructor, Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (C.R.A.S.E.) Instructor, Stop the Bleed Instructor, Child Safety Seat Technician, TCOLE Instructor, Field Training Officer, and Master Peace Officer. Ofc. Schima has been awarded the city's Employee of the Quarter, the Chief's Excellence Award, and Officer of the Year. In 2020, he was selected as the Texas Crime Prevention Association's Outstanding Crime Prevention Specialist- Overall. He has served as a patrol officer, public information officer, patrol supervisor, and school resource officer.
