About Matt Simon

I have been a professional football player for more than 15 years. Most recently I have played in the A-League for the Central Coast Mariners, having won the Golden Boot 7 times at the club, served as team captain from 2018-2020 and remain the clubs all-time leading goal scorer. In 2007/08 I was part of the Mariners Premiership winning team and a year later won the Mariners Medal. In 2016/17 I won my 2nd Premiership along with a Championship, this time with Sydney FC and went on to win the FFA Cup the following season. I was also part of the A League Premiership winning team at Sydney FC in 2017/18. Of all of these achievements, the highlight of my career was representing my country at International level at the Olympics in Beijing in 2008 and for the Socceroos in 2009. I recently received my AFC/FFA C coaching licence and have experience over the years coaching young players at various levels and ages. Football is a game I'll forever be passionate about and I will always enjoy giving back to the game that has given me so much.
