About Matt Todd

I have 30 years experience in Law Enforcement across three police forces including overt and covert major criminal investigations with Serious and Organised Crime, Homicide and Counter Terrorism Investigations. For the past ten years I have, and continue to manage the Hostage and Crisis Negotiation Unit for a large Metropolitan Police Force. In this capacity I manage a team of operational Hostage Negotiators deploying to a diverse criteria of incidents from barricade siege scenarios, suicide interventions and kidnaps. I coordinate and deliver negotiator and kidnap training at a national and international level. I am a Nationally Trained Hostage Negotiator, Coordinator and Kidnap Negotiator, specialising in Crisis Management, Kidnap, Siege Negotiation, Crisis Intervention and Kidnap & Extortion Investigations. I am studying for a PhD in terrorist negotiations and hold a Masters in Science for Criminal Justice Studies from the Scarman Centre at Leicester University.
