Proven record leading complex and highly regulated operations, designing and implementing BSA and AML programs, and managing auditing, compliance, risk mitigation, training, and threat monitoring. Launched career with Community Choice Financial as an Internal Auditor, earning promotion to Director of Auditing within two years. Led and coordinated activities of 6 internal auditors overseeing compliance across a footprint of 223 stores in 11 states. Prepared stores for IRS and State BSA audits, working cooperatively with IRS agents and corporate office during audit events. Onboarded and trained new team members, maintained leading-edge knowledge of industry trends, and worked cross-functionally to deploy best practices and emerging protocols. Before being promoted to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer in 2012, I concurrently served as Director of AML Compliance for two years while Director of Auditing. As a BSA Officer, I was charged with ensuring compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and Money Order Issuing, leading key internal initiatives and actions including field training, reporting and recordkeeping, independent review, OFAC, and the Customer Identification Program. I collaborated with Audit and Operations teams to detect potential noncompliance and mitigate risks through process and procedure development, communication, and field-level deployment to 500+ units. As Director and Senior Director of Operations, I led Retail Operations Marketing, Enterprise-Wide Communications, and Policy, Procedure, and Training teams, developing and implementing a strategic vision to align business and operational actions with compliance requirements. In addition, I built and executed corrective action plans to mitigate deficiencies, project managing state and federal exam responses. Moreover, I maintained knowledge of existing and emerging projects and business development activities and their potential impact on operations and compliance.
