About Matt Vandermeer

I am trained as a psychologist having completed my master's degree in Counselling Psychology and my PhD in Clinical Psychology (Clinical Science and Psychopathology) at the University of Western Ontario. As a researcher I'm interested in understanding neurobiological, temperamental, and interpersonal factors that contribute to the developmental course of psychopathology. I'm especially interested in identifying how these factors contribute etiologically to the development of mood and psychotic disorders. As a clinician I have worked to help people experiencing a wide variety of mental disorders and psychopathology (e.g, mood disorders, psychoses, anxiety disorders, trauma disorders, etc.). I typically work from a cognitive-behavioural framework, informed by person-centered approaches. Currently, I am working as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Psychology at Queen's University, where I am contributing to research related to what I described above.
