About Matt Waters

Third-year student at Marquette University, pursuing a dual degree in Commercial Real Estate combined with Finance with a concentration in Commercial Banking. Currently, I serve as the President of the Commercial Real Estate Club at Marquette, where I engage with industry leaders as well as peers to coordinate motivating events such as networking, Q&A’s, site tours, and more, for insight in the latest trends and developments. In addition to my academic and professional capabilities, I am the Principal Violinist of the Marquette University Symphony Orchestra. As the Principal Violinist and Concertmaster, I lead around thirty other musicians alongside the conductor in all rehearsals and university concerts throughout the year. In the past summer (2024), I have gained invaluable experience as a Development Associate at Mandel Group, a leader in the development and management of luxury apartment communities throughout the Midwest. I currently work there part-time during the academic year as well. In this role, I am involved in a range of projects spanning the development field: modeling, analysis, reporting, auditing, etc. Furthermore, I am utilizing new commercial real estate software, collaborating and learning from seasoned professionals, and contributing to the development team. This upcoming summer (2025), I will be interning at an international real estate development and investment company, First Sponsor Group in Singapore. I am so excited to embark on this journey and grow personally and professionally. A goal this summer is to network and try my best to secure a full-time job there for after I graduate (May 2026). My goal is to combine what I have learned from both academic and real-world experience in Commercial Real Estate and Commercial Banking to excel in a rewarding career in addition to owning and developing properties internationally.
