About Matt Weller

My professional career has been based around Sustainability and Environment Advisory work with over 10+ years experience in the consulting industry, and business management with 5+ years of experience building, growing and managing businesses. I have worked on major projects involving environmental auditing, site based environmental management, infrastructure sustainability, mainstreaming sustainability into projects and environmental assessments for large infrastructure projects. A career detour allowed me to pursue my passion in business management, organics and food supply chains via hands-on experience in the agriculture and technology startup sectors, assisting the world’s first Organic Farm Share come to fruition. This led to working with a start-up certified organic bakery on the Sunshine Coast to grow and helping build their business. Following this, the perfect passion project allowed me to assist The Kitchen Coach startup business come to life, helping transform the worlds of families worldwide through practical food education. In the four years of working within the business, I helped grow it year on year at a rate of 60% through sustainable marketing, business management and finance management. 2021 heralded the return for me to the world of Sustainability and Environmental Consulting - delivering sustainability results for the built form, local governments and infrastructure projects (through sustainability strategy and IS Ratings for road projects). I continued to hone my leadership and management skills, helping establish a local office for a small environmental consultancy. 2022 brought a shift into sustainability of the built form, reconnecting with Green Star Building projects in Australia (the LEED equivalent of the southern hemisphere) with the Cundall team in Brisbane. In early 2023, I relocated to British Columbia, Canada, where I am applying my sustainability experience to Canadian communities.
