Background
About Mattea Weinberg
When teaching, my job is to build my students’ confidence, both in their art and in themselves. By creating a nurturing environment where experimentation and “mistakes” are encouraged, students have the opportunity to express themselves without fear of reprisal. This allows students to unveil their personal identity, experiment with topics that may be new to them, and have a safe place to discuss these topics and their work together as a community. Since 2015, I have been working with students to help them build their skills and confidence as artists. In 2017, I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Illustration with a minor in Public Engagement, and in 2018, I completed my Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree. Since then, I have taught art classes for students ranging from nursery to high school, as well as pre-college illustration classes and various art-making camps!
