About Matteo Guerrini
I am a researcher specializing in the immune system and bone biology. During my PhD at the Vezzoni lab in CNR, Italy, I characterized the immune system of osteopetrotic patients with mutations in the genes coding for RANKL and RANK. I then moved to Japan to join the Takayanagi lab at the University of Tokyo, where I investigated the role of RANKL in T cells during autoimmunity. Currently, I am a research scientist at the Yamamoto lab in RIKEN, Yokohama, where we use a multi-omics approach to study how human genetic variation influences the development of autoimmune diseases. In addition to my scientific pursuits, I have a talent for both scientific and novel writing. I am a novelist published by Mondadori, Italy's leading book publisher.
