About Matteo Piccinali

I am an international business lawyer, founding partner at Zaglio Orizio e Associati Studio Legale and promoter of the global legal network “I, Lawyer – Innovation Lawyer”, gathering all the international partners that I have worked with in more than twenty years practicing law in Italy and abroad, in particular in the USA and China where I lived for many years. I assist Italian and foreign companies, both in Italy and abroad. I am Visiting Professor at the Shanghai University of Political Science and Law (SHUPL), where I teach contract and international trade law and new technologies law. Since 2020, in collaboration with SHUPL, I curate and teach the academic course called “The SILC – Sino-Italian Law Clinics Project”, aimed at exploring the most relevant legal implications relating to the deployment of new technologies for digital transition (digital marketing, blockchain & smart contracts, data protection, metaverse, IPRs, cyber-security, etc.). Since 2023, I also curate and teach the academic course on artificial intelligence law as visiting professor at the Artificial Intelligence Law School of SHUPL. I am a member of the Geneva-based Fondation pour le Droit de l'Art, an IBA - International Bar Association member, and an international arbitrator at the Shanghai Arbitration Commission.
