About Matteo Solazzo

Researcher in Biomedical Engineering since 2016. I've always been dedicated to biomaterials and advanced manufacturing for cardiovascular engineering, in particular towards cardiac tissue engineering. I performed my research with Prof. D'Amore and Wagner (Pittsburgh, USA) and with Prof. Monaghan (Dublin, Ireland). I obtained my PhD at Trinity College Dublin in 2022, with a thesis on "Electroconductive Biomaterial Platforms: From Piezoresistive Sensors To Cardiac Tissue Engineering". After some months working as postdoctoral reseacher in the Monaghan's Lab, I joined Qura and Spectrum Medical as R&D Project Leader. To date, my research has been translated into 5 first-author peer-reviewed publications and I am co-inventor for 1 patent applications. During my years in Academia I've been: Supervisor of more than 10 junior researchers (interns, undergraduate, and postgraduate students). Peer-reviewer for journals in the fields of Tissue Engineering and Material Science. Senior member of the TCBE Seminar Series Committee. Member of the SAT Athena SWAN for the School of Engineering in TCD. Senior TA of the project Postgraduate students rep.
