About Matteo Villa

I earned my Master’s degree in Medical Biotechnology in March 2020 from the University of Milano-Bicocca, completing my internship in the onco-hematology and molecular oncology group led by Prof. Carlo Gambacorti-Passerini, within the team of Prof. Luca Mologni. Previously, in March 2017, I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from the same university, under the supervision of Dr. Ferdinando Chiaradonna, in the tumor biochemistry group. I then pursued a Ph.D. in Translational and Molecular Medicine (DIMET), which I completed in February 2025. My research focused on studying resistance mechanisms in ALK+ ALCL and NSCLC tumors, using a multidisciplinary approach that integrates molecular biology and translational oncology. My research journey will continue with a postdoctoral fellowship funded by the AIRC Postdoctoral Fellowship for Italy 2024. Alongside my academic career, I have always been engaged in volunteer activities and have developed a strong aptitude for collaboration and innovation. I consider myself a precise, determined individual with a strong eagerness to learn and take on new challenges. My professional goal is to contribute to the development of new therapeutic strategies in oncology, with a particular focus on translational research and the identification of novel therapeutic targets.
