About Matthew Aris

Matthew is a teacher, director, arts manager and entrepreneur with 25 years experience in the creation and facilitation of performing arts events in a variety of education, local community and industry contexts. Since 2017, Matthew is finding new ways to enhance the quality (both process and product) of performing arts events and has authored and presented papers in national and international publications and conferences on the enablers and constraints of effective and mutually beneficial partnerships between industry, education and local community organisations. As Founder and Director at The Performing Arts Link, Matthew has pioneered Australia's largest sustainable fleet of reusable theatrical sets. In this capacity, he is also leading the technical, design, construction and logistical operations for performing arts groups staging medium and large-scale events. Matthew is an advocate for the role that the Arts play in building a more tolerant, just and equitable society. He prides himself on his broad range of Arts knowledge, skills and experiences, especially those that have successfully assisted disparate groups to come together in a way that is productive and mutually beneficial.
