About Matthew Bell

I have 12 years of archaeological field and research experience that includes projects in Hawai‘i, American Samoa, and Rapa Nui (Easter Island). For approximately 7 years I have also served as the primary GIS Specialist (GIS Analyst) for a non-profit archaeological research firm. My research includes studies for federal and state agencies, private clients and academic research. Ongoing research interests include agricultural practices, utilization of marginal environments, archaeological data management, and application of remote sensing techniques. I have written or collaborated as an author on over 15 technical research reports. I have made numerous cartographic, graphical and background research contributions to other such reports. I also take a professional interest in programming, databases, photography, systems administration, as well as training users about software and hardware.
