About Matthew Bennett

I was born in Illinois, raised in Wisconsin (go Packers!), and graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater with a degree in Comprehensive Computer Science. I enjoy all types of coding as well as designing UIs for new applications. I'm an experienced Software Engineer with 6 years of hands-on development, specializing in building scalable, user-friendly web applications. Currently, I'm a Software Engineer at Northwestern Mutual, where I focus on developing REST and GraphQL APIs and building applications on the Pega platform. Over the years, I've developed a foundation in technologies such as React.js, JavaScript, Node.js, HTML, and CSS. I love learning new languages and skills which is why I picked up Next.js, TypeScript, and C# on my own time, even though my team doesn't work directly with those technologies. I love the work I do because I'm passionate about developing apps that have a real impact on people's lives.
