Matthew is a seasoned leader and expert in the telecommunications industry, with over 23 years of experience in designing, managing, and delivering fibre optic projects across the globe. In his current role as Director Facilities Operation's at FlexNetworks, Matthew is responsible to: Oversee operations and maintenance of all telecom facilities, including data centers, offices, and field sites. Manage facility infrastructure (HVAC, electrical, mechanical, security) to support network reliability. Lead vendor relationships and contract negotiations for facility services. Develop and manage budgets, driving cost efficiencies and operational improvements. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Plan and execute space utilization, relocations, and infrastructure upgrades. Lead facilities teams and promote a culture of safety and service excellence. Support emergency preparedness and business continuity for critical sites. Drive sustainability initiatives and energy efficiency programs. Communicate with executive leadership on facility strategies and performance. His previous position was as Vice President of Telecoms at Primary Engineering and Construction, providing engineering and construction services across Canada. As a senior executive team member, Matthew oversaw the telecommunications operations of Primary, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. He led and supported teams of professionals across five provinces, developed and implemented strategies for improving performance and customer satisfaction, managed budgets and contracts, and stayed abreast of the latest technologies and trends in the field. Matthew is also certified in Project Management and Construction Engineering and proficient in process improvement, project planning, and telecommunications systems design, and permitting. He is passionate about delivering innovative and sustainable solutions that meet the needs and expectations of the clients and the communities. In his spare time, Matthew serves his community as a Foster Parent, Volunteer Medical First Responder, and Ski Patrol Captain.
