About Matthew Blount

Hello! My name is Matthew Blount and I am a two-time alum of East Carolina University. I graduated undergrad from the ECU Honors College with a major in Public Health-Pre Health and two minors in Business Administration and Composite Natural Science. At the completion of undergrad, I was selected as a Robert H. Wright Award winner and the outstanding senior for my Pre-Health concentration along with other accolades! I then went on to be a graduate of the inaugural cohort for the Immersive MBA in the East Carolina University's Thomas D. Arthur Graduate School of Business. Along with being a graduate student, I was the ECU Student Body Vice President and a Graduate Assistant in the College of Business Dean's office. I am a major advocate for type 1 diabetes awareness due to my mother having T1D and my fraternity having the organization JDRF as its national philanthropy. I helped raise a gross amount over for type 1 diabetes research in less than 1 calendar year through 2 JDRF One Walks in Greenville, NC. In the fall of 2025, I will be starting class again as a member of ECU’s Physician Assistant Program in their class of 2027 cohort. I am looking forward to one day practicing as a physician assistant and possibly going into healthcare administration! I would love to connect with you!
