About Matthew Bowers

I am a people-focused entrepreneur interested in how the modern workplace can offer fun and satisfaction for new generations of workers. Currently, I serve as President and CEO for the TalentZök family of companies, including Simply Biotech, a premium specialized staffing group recognized by Inc. Magazine in 2022 as one of the country's fastest-growing small businesses and a perennial winner of San Diego County's best places to work. I previously served as TalentZök's COO and General Counsel. Prior to TalentZök, I served as General Counsel and Senior Managing Director of Rayliant Global Advisors, a USD 15B+ asset management group with offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, London, Los Angeles and Taipei. A co-founder of the firm, I oversaw legal strategy, risk mitigation, compliance, marketing, people and culture for Rayliant’s global family of companies. My background is in labor and employment law, and my approach emphasizes the importance of firm culture in managing risk. Previously, I litigated disputes in the finance, entertainment and labor industries; and more recently, I served in the General Counsel’s office at a major labor union, advising on legal and policy issues. I'm motivated to work with organizations that promote culture, purpose, and fun in the workplace. I earned my JD from the UCLA School of Law. In Asia, I hold Securities Certifications from the Hong Kong Securities Institute (HKSI); and in the UK, I hold Certifications in Global Financial Compliance (GFC) and Investment Operations (IOC) from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI), where I am an associate member (ACSI).
