About Matthew Cameron

Hello! My name is Matthew Cameron, a senior environmental science student at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) who will graduate in May of 2025. I am an environmentalist and advocate for sustainability who is strong in group leadership, communication, and organization. I have experience in non-profit work including volunteer-coordination and mentorship, in addition to social media management. I have worked as a professor’s assistant where I conducted demographic analysis and demonstrated my communication skills from in a remote setting. My most recent work has been research in chemical ecology, where I am working with a research team at LMU to characterize native plant floral scent emissions. I am proficient in Final Cut Pro editing software, Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, and scientific literacy. I enjoy consuming automotive media and have interests in business sustainability, which I explored in my most recent LMU coursework. My passions extend to environmental justice, an important cause that encapsulates LMU's Jesuit mission for social justice that I discovered in my four years at university. I am excited to provide my scientific background and perspectives to sustainability efforts and adapt to meet your needs!
