About Matthew Collard

I am currently working as a Study Mentor, at Reading College. Previously, I have worked in retail (management) and the recruitment sector which has been beneficial to my current role, bringing a wealth of experience to students and the wider team. I really enjoy helping students who need that little extra support in order to get the best out of their studies and their time in College. Often these are students with extra needs (academic and personal), but the rewards are fantastic. Some of the tasks I am responsible for include writing and reviewing support plans, 1-1 and drop in sessions, revision sessions and working along side students in their lessons.(And learning something new everyday myself!) At present, my specialisms are Maths, English, Fitness + Sports, Media Studies and Public Services. I truly believe everyone deserves the chance to be the best version they can be and it’s brilliant to see students grow as individuals, academically and personally. I’m extremely lucky, that I work in a team that genuinely wants to provide the highest quality of support to students and the difference each member makes is invaluable.
