About Matthew Cox

I am a highly motivated individual, with a willingness to learn and work hard to succeed. I always aim to apply the creativity I have developed through education with the technical ability I am constantly gaining in practice in order to push my architectural ambitions as far as they can go. I am highly passionate about the relationship between the built environment and health and wellbeing, which I am keen to explore in all projects I undertake during the next stage of my career. My time at Stride Treglown Architects has provided me with a wealth of experience on live projects across a range of sectors, scales, and work stages. Whilst five years of academic study helped develop my lifelong excitement and imagination about Architecture into comprehensive understanding and practical knowledge, as well as offering a number of exciting and inspiring opportunities. Interests & Activities- Spent 2 weeks studying at the Colombo school of Architecture in Sri Lanka in 2018 as part of an exchange programme with UWE- Club captain of the University of Portsmouth cricket club in 2015. Also represented both UWE and Portsmouth University 1st XIs- Travelled around Australia and New Zealand on a Gap year, this included stopping to help a family business ‘Elements Watersports’ in Tauranga, New Zealand- Taken part in a number of running events including the Manchester Marathon, Bath Half and the Great South run, where along with a group of friends raised a total of £780 for a mental health charity called Young Minds.
