After 22 years of running my private practice, MCA Urban & Environmental Planners, I joined the Western Cape’s Atlantis Special Economic Zone for Green Technologies, to establish its organisational and operational frameworks. I have played key roles in several landmark initiatives, including Cape Town’s first post-democracy Metropolitan Plan and South Africa’s National Urban Renewal strategy. And at National Treasury’s Government Technical Advisory Centre (GTAC), I helped launch a R10 billion fund for township revitalisation.
