About Matthew Decker

Hi, my name is Matthew Decker. I enjoy hardworking and hands-on jobs, working in teams, and educating our youth and public about the world we live in. I graduated from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. At NC State, I learned to code with Python and use Linux operating systems. I also got valuable classroom experience through my education program, primarily in middle and high school math and physics I am experienced with modern stem-based teaching methods, as well as various educational technology tools. In my free-time I am typically found outside reading, biking, or playing music. I love backpacking on the AT, and surfing on the Outer Banks. I play in two professional bands in the Raleigh area, a jazz combo and a folk group. I primarily play guitar and upright bass, and have around a decade of experience on electric bass.
