About Matthew Devitt

Matthew Devitt has been involved in the Civil Engineering practice for over 12 years, with the majority of his work involved trenchless installation and rehabilitation projects across the globe. Currently Matthew serves as the Civil and Conveyance Engineering Discipline Lead for the Stantec Water Group across Alberta. In his role, Matthew provides technical oversight and guidance for the group and manages our technical resources. As a Senior Trenchless Engineer, he has supported water, wastewater, power, oil and gas, mining, and transportation projects across North America with various regional requirements, with construction values ranging from $100K to over $1B. His trenchless expertise includes experience with new installs on over 200 installations from 100 mm to 2400 mm diameter using horizontal directional drilling (HDD), pilot tubing (guidance and standalone), auger boring, microtunneling, Direct Pipe, pipe ramming, down-the-hole hammering, and pipe jacking. Matthew also has diverse experience in condition assessment and rehabilitation technologies for pipes and structures using closed-circuit television (CCTV) inspections, multi-sensor inspections (MSI), electrical resistivity inspection, laser profiling, LIDAR scanning, destructive testing, cured-in-place pipe (CIPP), sliplining, carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) wrap, fold and form, invert paving, packer and point injection grouting, shotcreting, spray-in-place pipe (SIPP), centrifugally cast concrete pipe lateral lining, and spot repairs.
