Experienced classroom and field instructor with deep knowledge of local bird populations. Decades of graphic design and marketing experience. Interested in opportunities for environmental outreach, corporate field experiences, environmental non-profit web and print promotion or other projects that inspire and educate the public about nature. Possess a natural comfort with public presentations, as well as a friendly, approachable manner that students enjoy. Notable Accomplishments • Directed the complete redesign of SCVAS.org and the SCVAS Avocet newsletter. • Designed and produced the first-ever annual report for SCVAS. • Attracted hundreds of new students to the Palo Adult School. • Advanced the methods and materials for my class continuously. • Recruited new birding instructors for the beginning and intermediate class-level offerings at PAAS. • Researched, organized and led a group of 12 adults on a two-week birding tour of Costa Rica. • Led groups birding tours of the Yuba Pass, Kern River Valley, Morro Bay, Carrizo Plain, and elsewhere. • Featured artist at exhibit of California bird drawings at CuriOdyssey, San Mateo.(2013). • Long-time spotter for Alvaro's Adventures, and Monterey Seabirds pelagic trips. • Created a multitude of bird-related educational videos for the SCVAS YouTube channel. • Taught seasonal, high-level online bird classes for SCVAS.
