About Matthew Dresner

My interest in engineering started at a very young age. As I went into high school this interest matured and I joined my high school's FIRST Robotics team. There I learned how to work in teams, design, build, and later on lead my team as the president of the club. I decided to go to Missouri University of Science and Technology, where I joined the fraternity Phi Kappa Theta. At S&T I have learned many things through my classes and through my classmates. I also took on an internship in the summer of 2020 at Empire Comfort Systems. At Empire, I learned how to work in the real world next to engineers and production employees. In the summers of 2021 and 2022, I took an internship with a small company called Automation Machine Builders in Imperial, Missouri. There I was challenged with many hands-on learning experiences. These experiences included design, part fabrication, machine assembly, and many more. I hope to one day use this knowledge to design mechanical systems. I completed an internship as a design engineering intern at Bastian Solutions. There I got to lead a project to create a new standard design for their product conveyor blade stop. This project challenged my design, communication, and computer skills. I hosted design reviews for this project in which I gained valuable knowledge from a cross-functional team. I also got the opportunity to sit in on other engineers' design reviews and gained knowledge related to various projects.
