I am a results-oriented professional with expertise in biotechnology, quality control, product development, and scientific research. With an MSc in Biotechnology from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and a BSc in Biomedical Science from Maynooth University, I have built a solid foundation in scientific research and its practical application. As a Senior Scientist in R&D, QC and Technical Support at Enrich Environmental Ltd, I lead product development, collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure customer specifications are met, manage the laboratory, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards. Previously, as a Quality Control Chemist at American Fruits and Flavors (AFF), I led a team of seven QC technicians, overseeing the testing of raw materials and finished products. I was also heavily involved in R&D, troubleshooting product issues, and developing new formulations. My contributions helped AFF pass FSSC audits and implement key quality initiatives. I have a strong background in quality management systems such as ISO GMP, and HACCP, and have performed internal audits to improve compliance. I also bring expertise in Lean Six Sigma to enhance operational efficiency and product quality. My career is marked by a commitment to continuous learning. I have pursued specialised courses in food science, product development, and leadership, earning certifications such as Leadership & Management (UCD, 2022), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (2023), and courses in HPLC method development and chemical products. These qualifications have allowed me to effectively solve challenges in research and quality assurance.
