About Matthew Faig

Since graduating with my Masters degree in 2010, I have had great professional experiences in Dayton and Cincinnati, Ohio. Out of college, I spent more than four years working for the United States Air Force as a Contracting Officer, Contract Negotiator, and Cost/Price Analyst. This job presented new and exciting work on a daily basis, while I also gained a feeling of satisfaction that I'm doing something beneficial for my country and those who serve and protect us. In the fall of 2014, I transitioned from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base to take a job as a Cost/Price Analyst with another agency with the Department of Defense, the Defense Contract Management Agency, in Cincinnati. This change has been beneficial to my career as I aspire to be more well-rounded and gain broader expertise. I now see the world of Government contracting from a totally different perspective than I did at Wright-Patterson, and it has taken my understanding of the business world in general to the next level. I climbed the ranks quickly early in my career, as I earned my Contracting Officer's warrant with the Air Force at the age of just 26. In 2017, following my transition to DCMA, I was rewarded for my hard work with a promotion to Team Lead after just three years with the agency. This position has allowed me to gain experience leading eight other Price/Cost Analysts. Together, my team and I successfully review cost proposals, participate in negotiations, and monitor sourcing for one of the nation’s largest defense contractors. I look forward to opening more new doors in the future. Outside of work, I enjoy playing tennis to stay in shape, woodworking in my garage, and attending local sporting events with my wife and children. Go Reds!
