About Matthew Farrington

When I started my career I started it within McDonalds whilst studying. I worked my way up from general colleague to shift manager. I then decided to have a change in career and work in the supermarket retail sector. From there I worked for many different retail companies like co-op, McColl's and Tesco building my knowledge of how these companies work and also building my transferable skills. During my time at Tesco I have supported the company with the roll out of their new payroll system and training others on how to use it. I supported my own store by making it one of the best shops in the group for schedule planning. Whilst at Tesco I am the go to person for all HR and pay related query's before speaking to their line managers. I hold return to work meetings to make sure the colleague is well and also hold attendance review meetings if necessary. I'm now looking for a new line of work to try and experience something new. I have started doing a CIPD course to help me build skills towards working within HR.
